Playhouse Arts is offering free art classes for our unhoused and housing insecure neighbors in different art disciplines: writing, painting, book binding, movement, music, storytelling, filmmaking, theater and more. We believe in the importance of having all voices contribute to creating culture, and in the need to humanize all experiences. We believe the arts are a transformative medium for self-knowledge, self-worth, and collective contribution toward the world we deserve.

Our Space is open Wednesday-Friday 10-4pm, and Saturday 10-1pm. We may be adding additional times for music practice. Our day begins with movement practice, where all are invited to join. Other ongoing projects, like the memorial to those who died in the street, and individual artists’ projects always fill Our Space with contagious creativity. We just finalized a mural with Ben Goulart and community participants. Its final location in our community will soon be shared with all.
Come visit us any time, and make sure you come by Friday, June 9th, 4-8pm for Arts Arcata. We will display art created in Our Space and the entries from the NEC trash art contest.
