Advocacy
The Playhouse Arts advocacy project, also known as The Round Story: Uplifting Community Voices, is a multi-year project which brings members of our small rural community together to address racial equity, social justice, and the changing of our demographic. Below are a list of our Round Story programs and ongoing event information.
Skue-yech Son-ee-nah
Playhouse Arts and Yurok Wellness have combined efforts to offer a workshop for K-12 children across the county. Pairing Yurok storytelling with Shadow Puppetry, groups gather for ten, one hour classes with students: one opening class with a Yurok story teller introducing the story and the rest with Playhouse Teaching Artist directing the creation of the play.
Migrations
Playhouse Arts presents MIGRATIONS: Walking Together, an annual original ensemble-created multi-disciplinary, multicultural performance project. It involves dance, theater, movement, masks, puppets, poetry, narratives and more.
