Founded in 1992 after the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, the Redwood Interfaith
Gospel Choir (formerly known as the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir), has been
performing locally for over 30 years. Lead by director, Jenni Simpson, the choir has a
new burst of life after the pandemic shut down the choral community. With Enthusiasm
and Inspiration, expect the Spirit to Uplift you and bring you Joy!
Joined by Guest Soloists, Nan Voss, George Ruth and Cynthia Martells, RIGC will be
performing African American Spirituals, as well as songs by well-known gospel
composers such as Richard Smallwood, The Reverend Timothy Wright, Thomas
Dorsey, and Mattie Moss Clark.
