Booknic at the Playhouse  1 - 4 PM

What’s better than a picnic with books? Create your own handmade book with Katie Belknap, and share poems and conversation with Jackie Dandeneau over warm beverages. Bookmaking supplies and hot water provided. Bring your copy of You Are Here and a picnic item.

The Big Read Finale took place on Sunday, May 17, and was the final celebration of the chosen book "We Are Here: Poetry In Natural World" by Ada Limòn. Over the course of the past eight months, Playhouse Arts, in collaboration with the Humboldt County Library, has held discussions, writing workshops, and performances inspired by this shared collection of poems.

 

The book was made available to anyone who wanted to participate. We gave out 350 books and from it our community has been inspired to create.
