"Honoring Us" Black Humboldt’s artist showcase, happening Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Arcata Playhouse!

7:00–10:00 PM | All Ages Poetry, music, and art performances with space for honoring our shared lineage.

10:00 PM–1:00 AM | 18+ A late-night dance floor featuring a live cypher, Hip Hop sets and DJs. Artists & Lineup: Josh Barnes Al Bear Hiet Got Bars B.Writes Ra MHTP DJ Sovern T Surprise Hip Hop Cypher Surprise special guests! Theme & Atmosphere The theme centers on honoring ancestry and lineage.

The event will feature a community ancestral altar and tree installation, candle offerings, visual art and interactive group art project. The showcase is designed to call in our ancestors and celebrate Black artistry through multiple forms of expression. Join us as we honor our shared lineage and call in our ancestors for a powerful night of art, poetry, music, and dance.
