Stories Behind the Songs: Chet Baker and other Capricorns at the Arcata Playhouse

"Spotlight on Chet Baker and other Capricorns" is the second in Creative Sanctuary's four concert winter series, "Stories Behind The Songs", hosted by James Zeller with a cast of local all-star jazz musicians and special guests. You'll hear Zeller's favorite selections from the Chet Baker songbook, from Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern and more. As with every show in the series, this one will be both edifying and entertaining, with Zeller weaving in stories about the songs and a few originals he imagines maybe Chet would have dug.

Joining Zeller will be an exceptional local rhythm section of Gabe Lubowe, piano, Ramsey Issacs, drums and Danny Gaon, Bass. Expect tasteful and unique arrangements of music ranging from Irving Berlin to Gershwin, Sinatra (a Capricorn) to who knows?
