The Big Read Finale is the final celebration of the chosen book "We Are Here: Poetry In Natural World" by Ada Limòn. Over the course of the past eight months, Playhouse Arts, in collaboration with the Humboldt County Library, has held discussions, writing workshops, and performances inspired by this shared collection of poems.
The book was made available to anyone who wanted to participate. We gave out 350 books and from it our community has been inspired to create.
Come and see a display of people's chosen favorite poems from the book as well as original pieces. Stroll around the Marsh and happen upon performances and installations including storytelling, poetry readings with live choral soundscape, movement inspired by poetry, local band Modern Love Association, 42 Bucks, Elementary and High School poetry readers, The Wonder Wagon and more.
