Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival

The Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival will continue its 15th season of classical community concerts with a concert at the Arcata Playhouse on Friday, August 22 at 7:00pm.

The festival will bring a trio of musicians for a concert at the Arcata Playhouse. Violinist Kevin Rogers of the Friction Quartet makes his third appearance with the festival, and cellist James Jaffe will return for his tenth season. They join festival founder and director, pianist Ian Scarfe, for a program of trios celebrating classical elegance, rollicking dance music, and ethereal impressionism.

The trio will perform the C Minor Piano Trio by Beethoven, a piece that was a part of his first ever published music in 1795, when the composer was just 25 years old. “This is a piece that Beethoven used to make a statement,” says Scarfe, “Beethoven knew that he wanted to shake up the traditions in the musical world…
