WHY WE DANCE offers an intimate look at a web-based dance class born of the Covid pandemic that brings together a diverse group of women as they confront body image, seek community, become grandmothers, and keep dancing. Led by a charismatic and compassionate teacher who is herself an immigrant, the class draws women from all over the world. As friends invite friends, women from their 40s to their 80s gain strength and find joy together. WHY WE DANCE is their film diary.

WHY WE DANCE combats the invisibility many women feel as they age. Instead, the film celebrates them, promoting self-confidence through active, inclusive, expressive living.
