Musical Storytelling is an opportunity for children in grades two through four to explore the connections between literature, theater, music, and stagecraft in the Playhouse Theater environment. This program will guide the children in an eight-week journey of adapting a piece of children’s literature into a short play, learning a set instrumental piece on xylophones,

improvising instrumental sound effects, composing a musical character theme, creating evocative sets and costuming, and presenting the final creation to parents on the last day of class. This offering will be guided by Teresa Walker, bringing with her over a decade of joyful experience in children’s theater and Orff Music for Children.
